Nugs.net Delivering the Live Goods - Les Claypool's Version of King Crimson's "Thela Hun Ginjeet"

The Net is filled with jam-band MP3's. It makes sense considering these bands are known for their open recording and free distribution policies. A really great site delivering free MP3's of jam-band shows is Nugs.net.

Nugs has their own stash of live shows from about fifty bands - from Addison Groove Project to Zero. The cool thing about these live recordings of jam-bands is that you can find some pretty unique covers.

Les Claypool & The Flying Frog Parade
Les Claypool is one of those musicians who truly broke sonic territory with his band Primus, doing crazed songs like "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" and "Wynona's Brown Beaver." If you're into odd covers, get over to Nug.net and check out Les' version of King Crimson's "Thela Hun Ginjeet." The original bassist to play this song was Tony Levin - master of the stick bass. Les is able to do a decent version - but dissappointingly, leaves out most of the song's lyrics - including the main story.
